BELOTERO® BALANCE is a Dermal Filler made of a material called hyaluronic acid or HA. HA naturally exists as a component of your skin. By binding to water, it fills in wrinkles and folds, allowing immediate and smooth correction. It can last 6-12 months depending on the area treated.
What Is Belotero?
Belotero is a facial filler. It is used to improve volume loss throughout the face. Both internal (intrinsic) and external (extrinsic) factors affect how our skin ages. Extrinsic factors that contribute to the aging of our skin include poor diet, stress, smoking, and of course exposure to the sun. Although all of these factors contribute to the aging process of the skin, it is probably the exposure to ultraviolet radiation which has the most effect.
Not only extrinsic factors but also intrinsic factors contribute to the aging of our skin. The intrinsic aging is determined by our genetic heritage. Most patients will start noticing fine lines in their face appearing in their early 30s or sometimes even in their late 20s.
As we age, our face changes. We lose fat and bone, and the skin in our face thins. This process accelerates as patients approach their 40s and 50s.
Belotero is a facial filler that is in the hyaluronic acid category. It is used to add volume to the face.
The Belotero procedure is an office-based procedure and typically takes from 10 to 15 minutes to perform. At the Mack Center, we apply topical anesthetics before the treatment, and ice is also applied prior to the treatment. Our patents find that this is an excellent treatment protocol.
Who Is a Good Candidate for the Procedure?
Patients who are good candidates for Belotero are patients who are noticing wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of volume in their face. Patients are looking for natural-looking results, which can certainly boost a patient’s confidence.
What Are Realistic Expectations?
The realistic expectation for the Mack Center patient who is undergoing Belotero treatment would be to achieve a natural result which can both restore and enhance their looks.
What Are the Common Reasons Why a Patient Wants Belotero?
At the Mack Center, a prospective patient desiring Belotero presents with loss of volume in their face, loss of volume in their lips, deepening of nasolabial folds, and evidence of marionette lines below their mouth. Patients appreciate that their natural rejuvenated appearance is seen immediately after their Belotero treatment.
How Long Does It Take a Patient to Recover?
Following treatment at the Mack Center with Belotero, our staff will apply ice for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. The patients are then given ice packs to take with them to apply at home. Patients can certainly return to work or other activities following the treatment with Belotero.
