What Is JUVÉDERM
JUVÉDERM® is a facial filler that is used to reduce or eliminate wrinkles, scars, and depressions, and for volume loss in the face. As the skin ages, the dermis gradually loses its major constituents, such as collagen and elastin.

The procedure is performed in the office and typically takes from five to fifteen minutes depending on the number of vials that are administered.
Topical anesthetic is applied to the areas that will be treated, and ice is applied before the JUVÉDERM® is injected. Most patients find this treatment protocol to work quite well.
JUVÉDERM® XC is formulated with a local anesthetic, Lidocaine. This formula provides patients with a more comfortable injection experience when compared to the non-Lidocaine formulation.

How Long Does It Take a Patient to Recover?
There is very little recovery time following administration of JUVÉDERM®. Patients are asked to apply ice following the procedure, and there are no restrictions. The patients can resume their normal activities for that day.
