What is Microdermabrasion?
Even though I would almost guarantee you have HEARD of microdermabrasion, you may or may not know what it’s all about. If this is you then no fear, you definitely aren’t alone. Even if your friends swear by it or you’ve seen it listed on menus at the spa, you may still have no clue what all the fuss is about.
Microdermabrasion is a procedure that exfoliates and removes the superficial layer of dry, dead skin cells, essentially buffing and polishing the skin.
While anyone can benefit from microdermabrasion, the patients who typically benefit the most are the ones looking to treat fine lines, uneven pigmentation or clogged pores.
How often you should receive treatments will vary and is definitely a conversation best had with your physician. Also keep in mind that while the treatment isn’t painful, it may leave the skin slightly red for a few hours, and possibly more sensitive.
