Tampa, FL. June 9th, 2013- Cold blowing air for a more comfortable laser treatment. To ease the pain of laser treatments at the Mack Center, Dr. Mack purchased a Cyro 6 from the company Zimmer.
The Cyro 6 Cold Air Device is designed to “minimize pain and thermal injury during laser and dermatological treatments and for temporary topical anesthetic relief for injections.” The company’s website, www.zimmerusa.com, also stated that the Cyro 6 was “designed for superficial aesthetic procedures.”
Just how cold does the chiller blow? According to the Zimmer website , “a flexible hose delivers filtered air cooled to -30 degrees centigrade.” Jenny Barker, Media Director for the Mack Center, had her underarms lasered by Loralee and used the Cryo 6 during the procedure. Jenny said “the laser didn’t hurt to begin with, I was actually shocked. We have the new Cutera Prowave LX laser hair reduction hand piece, so it is very comfortable, however, the constant cold air helps with the areas that were a little more sensitive. I think it helped distract me too, I was more focused on the cold air!”
