3 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR SKIN CARE PRODUCTS MORE EFFECTIVE

Have you ever tried a skin care product and just felt like it didn’t do anything for you? You aren’t alone. Many people experience this problem. However, your new product may not be to blame for the lack of results. Try these three ways to make your skin care products more effective.

Exfoliate

Old, dead skin cells can pile up on the surface of the skin, leaving your complexion looking dull and rough. Those dead skin cells can also result in excess oil or clogged pores, potentially leading to acne. And if that wasn’t enough, the dead skin cells are like a barrier between your skin and your skin are products. When you exfoliate, new cell growth is stimulated and your skin care products can penetrate your skin up to 20 times better.

So make sure that you are exfoliating regularly! Once or twice a week is usually enough. Just don’t go overboard and exfoliate too often. You might irritate your skin and do more harm than good.

Store your products properly

Your skin care products may look attractive lined up on the top of your bathroom sink, but that may not be the best place for them. In fact, you could be reducing their effectiveness with poor storage habits. You see, antioxidants and plant extracts do better when they are not exposed to sunlight. Try to store your products in a cool location out of the direct light.

Don’t throw out everything!

Just because you aren’t seeing the results you want with your skin care products doesn’t mean that it’s the fault of ALL of the products, so avoid the temptation to throw out everything and start over. Start slowly by changing one product at a time and seeing what kind of results you get.

Good luck! And if you need advice about the products you should be using for your skin type, contact us today!
