Most describe it as mild pressure or a pinch rather than sharp pain. Any soreness or tenderness typically resolves within a few hours to a day, and cold compresses can help ease any minor swelling or discomfort.

Most Mack Center patients achieve their desired results in a single tear trough filler session. During your consultation, your provider will assess the depth of the hollows and the overall under-eye anatomy to determine the appropriate volume of filler.

In some cases, a brief follow-up session a few weeks later may be recommended to fine-tune the results or address any subtle asymmetry.

The initial improvement is visible immediately after the injections, though mild swelling or redness can temporarily mask the final outcome. Over the first two weeks, the filler settles into the tissue, and the under-eye area smooths naturally.

Tear trough filler is often combined with botulinum toxin injections to address fine lines around the eyes or forehead, or with microneedling, chemical peels, or laser resurfacing to improve skin texture and tone.

The most common issues with tear trough filler are swelling, bruising, redness, or tenderness. Less commonly, patients may experience slight unevenness or asymmetry, which can usually be corrected with a brief follow-up adjustment.

Rarely, complications such as infection, vascular compromise, or prolonged lumps can occur, but these are minimized with careful technique, proper patient selection, and thorough post-procedure care.
