IPL Lime Light Laser Tampa

IPL Lime Light Laser

The IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatment also known as the “Photo-Facial” is a laser treatment available at the Mack Center. Our IPL is called Limelight as is part of the Xeo from Cutera®. This light treatment is used to target superficial pigment disorders such as melasma and freckles. It also targets unwanted erythema and redness associated with conditions like Rosacea. While some patients do not need to target pigment or redness, IPL is also an option for stimulating collagen and giving an overall glow to the skin. Unlike most light treatments, the Limelight effectively treats both low contrast and high contrast pigmentation giving a more effective treatment. After a treatment, patients will start to see their pigment darken over the next 24-48 hours. Then the darkness gradually sloughs off over a 7-14 day period. There may be some slight swelling for a couple days after the treatment. With the IPL, patients do not peel and typically need one to three treatments based on their baseline and desired outcome. There is essentially no downtime with this laser option. Patients should consider having an IPL a year to maintain the results! The use of SPF and Obagi products can help enhance and maintain the results. The Mack Center offers IPL treatments on the face, chest, hands and arms. IPL treatments performed at the Mack Center in South Tampa, FL typically take 20-45 minutes and can be retreated in four weeks. Call our Tampa office today to schedule your consultation.
