SUMMER SKIN CARE SECRETS

Many families in the area will be heading to the beach this holiday weekend. That means a lot of time out in the sun and an increased risk of sun damage. Use these summer skin secrets to protect yourself against sun damage, uneven skin, redness, and more.

Go Oil-Free To Prevent Breakouts

Look for ‘oil-free’ on sunscreen labels. ‘Sheer’ doesn’t necessarily mean oil-free. Mineral sunscreens like the Colorescience Sunforgettable sunscreens are a great choice.

Simplify Your Routine

Consider trying a lotion or mineral foundation that has SPF so you can keep your routine as simple as possible. However, make sure you also have some extra sunscreen on hand so you can reapply.

Avoid Ashy-ness

Some sunscreens can look ashy on darker skin. Typically, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are typically the problem. Look for ultra-sheer sunscreens to avoid ashy skin.

Wear Sunglasses

Sure you want to wear sunglasses to protect your eyes against the sun, but you also want to protect the delicate skin AROUND your eyes.

Wear a Hat

This may seem really obvious, to protect your skin, but hats are also a good idea since they can protect the delicate skin on your head.

How will you be spending your holiday weekend?
