Acne scarring, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration are often inevitable as time takes its toll on your skin. But they don’t have to take up permanent residency on your skin, either!
There are solutions!
Micro needling is designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, scarring and large pores. This treatment uses the MD Pen to rapidly create a pattern of microscopic “wounds” or micro channels in the treatment area. Your body is then triggered to fill these wounds with new collagen and elastin, leaving your skin looking smoother and more uniform.
The treatment also makes it easier for the skin to absorb medical grade products like anti-aging serums and skin lighteners, applied during or immediately after the procedure by your practitioner.
What issues can be treated with MD Pen?
- Acne and other scars
- Stretch marks
- Fine lines
- Uneven skin texture and complexion
- Enlarged pores
How long will treatment take?
Typically, a full face and neck anti-aging treatment takes between 20 and 40 minutes. Other areas will depend on the size of the area and the number of treatments being administered.
How will my skin feel after micro needling?
Immediately afterward, your skin may be sensitive to the touch and appear red, as though you have a moderate sunburn. Within 24 hours the micro channels will be healed. Any residual redness typically goes away within two or three days, leaving behind your beautiful new complexion. Some patients experience a very light flaking of skin during this time.
How many treatments will I need?
3-6 treatments are typically recommended to address most skin concerns.
What does micro needling cost?
The face and neck, treated as one area, costs $250 per treatment. Other areas will have to be quoted on a case-by-case basis. We do offer a 3-treatment package of $700 that includes one complimentary décolletage (chest) or hand treatment. $100 deposit required at the time of your reservation to hold your appointment.
How often will I need treatments?
Every patient is unique, so it’s hard for us to know exactly how often or how many treatments you will need without seeing you in person. That said, we typically recommend treatments every four to six weeks until you have achieved your desired results. Consultations for microneedling are complimentary.
Are there any side effects?
Micro needling is a non-invasive procedure, so patients usually heal very quickly. That said, mild side effects do happen on occasion. The most common side effects are temporary slight swelling, skin tightness or mild sensitivity.
Who are the best candidates for micro needling?
Everyone is a candidate for micro needling. This type of treatment is safe for all skin types and skin colors! In fact, Micro needling is usually more effective for darker skin tones than peels or more invasive procedures to address post-inflammatory pigmentation or acne scars.
