DO YOU USE A TONER REGULARLY?

Okay, so be honest… do you ACTUALLY know what toner does?

If the answer is no, then don’t worry: you aren’t alone. Most people DON’T really know what a toner is and many are concerned that using one will just try out their skin.

However, the truth is that toner can be a valuable part of your skin care regimen.

  • It prepares your skin for you to apply other products by adjusting the pH of your skin
  • It gives your skin a cool, refreshed feeling
  • It removes the outer layer of oil from your skin, making your skin look clean and clear

Now, that said, it does usually contain a mixture of alcohol and water which can dry out your skin, especially if you’re prone to dry skin. If this is you, look for a toner that is formulated with less alcohol and includes a moisturizer (like glycerin).

Toners are great for using after you’ve washed your face in order to remove any additional oils and dirt that may have been missed. They prepare your face for moisturizer and makeup application.

However, the best thing you can do is to speak to your dermatologist (or contact us!) and get a recommendation for the right toner for your skin type.
