BOTOX VERSUS DYSPORT

Did you know that when it was discovered that Botox could combat wrinkles, there was actually a shortage on the injectable for a period of time? Since then, Botox is practically become a household name, and it’s the go-to anti-aging solution for many women. But what about Dysport, it’s lesser-known counterpart. What’s the difference? Is one better than the other?

In this post, we’ll take a look at the two different products and help you get a better idea of how they’re different!

A Tale of Two Injectables

The truth is that both Boxot and Dysport are botulinum toxin A, a protein that works by relaxing targeted muscles in the face, such as crow’s feet. You could think of it as comparing apples to apples. Some people prefer Honeycrisp whereas others like Red Gala, but at the end of the day both are still apples.

Both Botox and Dysport have been in use for years, although Dysport has been used primarily in Europe, and both have a high safety profile. They also both have shown similar side effects and in most double-blind clinical studies, both the patient and doctor were unable to tell the results apart.

How is Dysport different?

The main difference is that Dysport is a smaller-sized molecule, so its unit measurement is different than Botox. It may cost less than Botox but that is largely dependent on the total amount needed to accomplish your goals, so that’s going to vary from person to person.

At the end of the day, what is most important is not which product you’re having injected, but WHO is doing the injection. Bad results from Botox and Dysport are not the fault of the products but are the mistakes of the person performing the injection…and bad results are not something you want displayed across your face! Make sure that you always meet with an experience physician when choosing an anti-aging solution like Botox or Dysport. And I you’re looking for Dysport in Tampa, we have a one-day-only special this month that you’ll definitely want to know about!
