EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT BOTOX (BUT ARE AFRAID TO ASK)

BOTOX is the most common injectable on the market today, so popular, in fact, that it’s become a household name. Since 2002, approximately 10.9 million vials have been sold in the United States, alone. And yet, there is still a lot of misinformation floating around about the treatment. But is it right for you? That depends! Let us explain.

Does Botox prevent wrinkles?

Yes, absolutely! Botox and its competitor Dysport are both designed to temporarily erase or reduce horizontal forehead lines, vertical frown lines, and crow’s-feet by blocking nerves that cause the tiny facial muscles to contract, causing the wrinkles to soften.

Can Botox make my face look frozen?

Yes, but only if the injections are done by someone who is inexperienced. When your injections are performed correctly, Botox can lift the brow and give you an appealing and sincere look. However, if the person administering your injections uses too much Botox in the horizontal lines on your forehead, you can look Spocked, as in Spock from Star Trek. Not a good look!

This is why it’s essential that you do your research and find a specialist we is licensed, trained and experience in administering Botox injections. If you’re looking for Botox in Tampa, our staff is extremely well trained and experienced and happy to help you get the natural results you’re looking for.

Does it hurt?

There can be mild discomfort when the injections are administered, as there can be with any other injectable.

Are there any side effects?

Unfortunately, as with any drug, there are potential side effects. Fortunately, Botox is extremely safe so the risks are minimal. In one to five percent of cases there can be a mild droopiness of the eyelid or eyebrow that goes away within two weeks and some patients experience bruising.

How long does Botox last?

While results vary, you can expect results to last from three to four months.

Will people know I’ve had Botox?

That depends.

Injections that are done well will leave you looking more fresh, cheerful and possibly younger. However, if done badly you may have telltale signs like a smooth and shiny forehead or a forehead and crow’s feet that are frozen in place.

Will I look younger immediately?

Unfortunately you won’t see immediate results. They will begin to show up gradually in a couple of days and continue to develop over the course of two weeks.
